Sharps and Needles

In order to protect the public we operate a 7-day service.  We work with councils, housing associations, landlords and other local authorities to guarantee the removal of dangerous waste which is disposed of safely and legally.  We are also available to support private landowners or proprietors with sharps that are discarded on their property.

The main risks associated with sharps are puncture wounds that allow blood-borne pathogens such as Hepatitis and HIV to be passed to the individual.  Therefore it is imperative that any sighting of sharps be reported immediately and disposed of by a trained professional.

We are experienced in examining large areas of rubbish and waste and conducting needle sweeps.  We guarantee all sharps are removed before the area is disinfected, cleaning all bodily fluids and completely removing any biohazard contamination.

It is important to remember that disposing of needles and hypodermics in a public litter bin or your normal household waste receptacles is extremely dangerous.

All sharp removals, incinerations and the decontamination of sites are carried out in full accordance with Health and Safety, Government and COSHH procedures.  All of our accreditations can be viewed and downloaded on our Accreditations page.  We always ensure that a site survey and risk assessment is conducted by a technician prior to the removal of any waste.
